So I lost my new Bellicose earlier tonight. Went out in a blaze. It was glorious, in a "my ship just exploded like fireworks" kind of way.

Spent the rest of the evening running around collecting stuff to re-fit a new ship to replace the lost one.

Apparently, every time I lose I ship, I also lose all reservations about doing crazy things and as a result pull some ridiculous stunts that my better sense would never allow. Like tonight. I decided tonight would be a terrific night to start jumping out to all the stations where I've left random garbage to start sorting through it and selling what I can of it for the extra money. Many of these stations are down in a more southern region than where I am now, having just hooked up with The Boondock Saints in Alenia. In order to get from Alenia to these other stations, one has to make a trip of about 18 jumps, or about 20-30 minutes depending. And one also has to pass through Egghelende, which I have heard has been camped out for quite some time now as I've been informed by a very reliable source.

Tonight I crossed Egghelende. Not once, but twice. Once in an uninsured ship, once in a slightly better insured ship full of stuff I plan to try to sell in the near future.

Needless to say, I MADE IT. And there was much spazdancing and rejoicing from all the Doranas in their shiny new ships.

I'm going to go collapse in a heap of HOLY CRAP I LIVED adrenaline now.

'Night.

Haven't written in a while. Been hanging out in Mista lately. Just got to cruisers - bought a Bellicose because most anything was better than what I was flying before.

Not really sure where I'm headed just yet. Torn between a couple things at the moment.

Will probably continue hanging in Mista a while longer. At least for now.

Seems that all the kernite in Laddiaha has been strip mined out. No matter when I hop into any of the asteroid fields, there's nothing to be found.

I've jumped over to Maiah and am currently mining pyroxeres. Not only that, but it seems that I can actually manage to sell things here, something that was totally impossible in Laddiaha.

New ship, too. A Burst called "Nocturnal," a decent sized frigate with a decently sized cargo hold. Seems to be holding up quite fine for the moment.

Guess we'll see how things go from here...

Well. Looks like Accomplice didn't last too long. Got annhilated in asteroid field 7 in Laddiaha. So much for that. Fucking pirates.

Cashed in the insurance money on a new ship, a Rifter ("Phoenix") this time. Smaller cargo hold, but much, much faster. So I guess I'll at least be able to outrun if not fight back should I get into another situation.

Mining luminous kernite, since isogen seems the only thing worth selling lately. The price of mexallon has come back up, but tritanium is basically worthless right now. Hoping to get out of this mining business ASAP. Not enough result for so much time and energy spent collecting. Not sure where to go next, though. I've been advised to join a corporation or something, but I just don't feel like devoting myself to any one cause just yet. Who knows, maybe I'll end up joining the pirates if nothing else is profitable enough. Argh pirates.

It seems so isolated out among the asteroids. My biggest fear is getting annhilated by pirates and there are dreadnaughts hopping around out there. It kinda puts things in perspective.

Still can't believe I lost my ship. Need to be more careful.

Finally made it to Laddiaha last night. I saw a few other ships coming and going around the gate and about some of the stations, but no one really seemed to be hanging around for long. I figured it best to start investigating the asteroid fields and get my bearings on the area.

The sky was so dark compared to Ryddinjorn and some of the other systems I'd just passed through. It was so blue-black, it just felt like... ...cold doesn't really begin to describe it properly. "Desolate" might be a better word, but I'm not too sure. It just seemed very huge and very dead.

I set out to investigate the asteroid belts and see if there was any fiery kernite to be had. The first field I hopped to was 7, I believe? I just dropped out of warp and was greeted by the shriek of the enemy lock-on alarm. Someone was in the area, and had seen me before I'd had a chance to see them. I threw up the shields and scanned the area for kernite. I had enough time to determine there was one big hunk of it floating out there and warp back to the station to let my shields recover from being damaged.

It took me a few minutes to realize what had happened. I was confused at being attacked, since Laddiaha is 0.7 security, plenty safe. There shouldn't be any reason for an attack like that. So I pieced it together. If it had been a person on the other side of the fire, Concord would have come in for sure, right? It had to be a drone.

Seems that it takes about four times as many runs into the field to gather enough kernite to reprocess, which is a tad frustrating considering all the pirate drones I've fought off just to get into the area. Mining kernite is easily much more profitable than just mining veldspar or scordite, but I can see it's not going to be easy to get to. At least not until I can upgrade the guns on the ship. I bought a new, slightly less powerful frigate that I named "Accomplice" for lack of a better name, specifically for mining. Not necessarily to replace Archaic, which is much lighter and quicker, but just for hauling stuff since the cargo hold is easily twice as big as Archaic's. Hopefully this will make for fewer runs out to the asteroid belts, but who knows. Accomplice can't support all the shield/plating upgrades that Archaic can while still using as many cargo hold expanders as possible, which worries me with all these pirate drones in the area, but I guess the extra cargo space makes up for it. She's slower, weaker, and definitely not for fighting. I just hope we survive.

I sold what I could of my remaining items, packed everything I couldn't, and left Pator Tech in Ryddinjorn last night. I'm about 14 jumps away from there now, in Trer, on my way to Laddiaha (25 more jumps away) on a tip to mine for fiery kernite. Don't get me wrong, Ryddi was a lovely place to be, nice and calm, not all that many people around, but on the other hand that's part of what made me want to leave. There's a massive universe out there, you know? I want to see it all. In the past few days I've only seen a small handful of even smaller ships, and I know there's got to be more out there.

I have no idea where I'm headed with all this, really. Just drifting for the moment, headed towards whatever spot on the map looks most appealing at the time, and not really knowing whether that spot might hold the promise of something useful to mine or certain death in a ball of glowing flames. I'll take that risk, because there's no point in sticking around in a backwater station, mining veldspar and seeing no one but people passing through the system for the rest of my life. I want to see some action! Fights and giant ships and war! Well, maybe not war, but something!

I guess we'll see what kind of trouble I get myself into once I get there.
